power steering noise and problems(advice quickly)

When I am sitting still and I turn the wheel back and forth my p/s makes a weird groaning noise. Also when stopped I can push the brake all the way to the floor and it makes the same groan noise. Is it the pump? Could this be because of my wreck? I got hit in the pass. side front. Need help with this quick so I can go after the insurance co. for the repair. Thanks.

hehe..I had the same problem. Look at the belt tensioner and the pump. When mine did that it was the pump going out. They also replaced my tensioner.

It could also be low on fluid. Check that first. Then the pump.

will do. Fluid is fine. So I guess it wasn't beacause of the wreck? Crap...
