Predator/laptop question...already searched

If using a usb to db9(9 pin serial cable) adaptor to connect pc to predator is the power supply going to be needed as well? or will the laptop power the predator like it would if the laptop had a standard serial port?

you will need a power supply, or you can sit in the car wit it plugged in and it will power it for you.

I use the car method when downloading new tunes ect.

My laptop like most new computers do not have a 9 pin serial port. I do however have a serial to USB adaptor. I also need to know if the power is supplied to the Predator via USB as it is with the 9 pin cable.

the power is supplied from the car or the power wire. the laptop wont power up the predator
