I found a few posts that supported Mobil 1, K&N and OEM Motorcraft oil filters.

So from cutting them apart to premature failure what have you found to be a good oil filter and why?

I run Mobil 1 synthetic 5W30 and don't mind changing the oil frequently. Just wanting a high quality filter to match.

FWIW, it's cheap insurance when you consider what we tend to do to these cars.

Thanks.

Motorcraft... they are excelent filters and are cheap. When cut apart the insides are the same as many higher cost name brand filters...
+1, that's what I always use.
They even sell them at Walmart. :coolman:

I have here a Mobil 1, a K&N Gold and a FRPP.

The Ford racing is 1/2 inch longer than the K&N gold with is the same size as Mobil 1. Also the FRPP holes for the oil to circulate are larger. So the FRPP offers the best flow. They are all probably the same in filtering. I would go with the Ford Racing one because of the high flow it offers over the rest.

What are the prices of the 3 different filters?
Mobil 1
K&N Gold
FRPP

Also, can you get the FRPP from any dealership?

You can get the FRPP online for around $10-$11, I got mine at a dealership for $14.

The K&N Gold is around $13-$14 and the mobil one I think it a little cheaper

I've been using Amsoils filters because I buy it when i pick up there oil. I've used it for 22K miles so far, and it seems to work, but how would you know without cutting it open or having someone analize your oil after a change?
