If you go with an aftercooler, you shouldn't need to drop compression ratio. After it's all installed, a really good dyno tune/chip is a must.

97greensnake- If you are going to stay around 8lbs
of boost- use 30lb injectors- ngk v-power plugs
gapped to .35 and a/f reading of no more than 11:1
with a good conservative dyno. How much boost are you
intending on? Oh buy the way even though Vortech
gives you a T-rex fuel pump, get yourself a 255 in-tank
for insurance!

I agree with the above... but would like to add that you'll benefit greatly with an aftermarket ignition system, especially if you're running 10 psi with the aftercooler. That's what I'm running on my 98, and even with the plugs gapped down to less than .030, the spark blows out above 5k rpm, unless I have the MSD Dis-4 hooked up... then it runs perfectly.

No need to drop compression on 10psi or less.
