EDIT: If someone has a step-by-step install guide with pictures, that would make my life a lot easier.
Yesterday I attempted to do the high speed fan switch mod to the 98 Cobra.
Per the instructions:
-Got under the dash, pulled the kick panel off to expose the nest of wires leading to the ECM.
-I located the light green/purple striped wire.
-I spliced into the wire by using a t-tap such as this..
-I used a 12 gauge wire, crimped to the other side of the t-tap.
-Here's where it gets odd. I go to turn the car to the accessory positition and the fan is running. I attempted to ground the wire I connected to the t-tap/light green/purple striped wire to control the fan, but to no avail. It would continue to run regardless of grounding or not grounding. I attempted to turn the car on, but it would not turn over.. It would only crank without firing.
I said screw it and put everything back together. Car starts fine now that I put everything back together.
What did I not do correctly? Any insight here would be appreciated.
