howdy,
I have a p600b prochager with a custom steel welded inlet pipe.
WITH A 3 CORE INTER COOLER.
I Just purchase the procharger plastic inlet pipe for $20 bucks on line.
The plastic inlet tube appears to be a little smaller then the one on car now.
The procherger one will look alot nicer then the steel pipe installed now.
Do you think it will make much a differance in Horse power.
I dont want to install if i am going to loose power.

That is a power pipe. It makes more power than the stock procharger inlet tube. How ugly is it? Does it have weld beads around it piecing it together? Have you thought about sending it out to be powdercoated or spray painted to clean up its looks?

Yea it has a heavy weld splicing it together, i did think about sanding it down a bit to just clean it up and repaint it or power coat.
Guess i put my new plastic procharger inlet pipe with the rest of my parts in the attic that didnt work out!

Break out the angle grinder and smooth down the welds to make it pretty and then coat it with some rattle can paint. Toss the plastic inlet on while you work on the powerpipe. That way you can still drive your car if you use it as a daily driver.

Hey David! I sold you that the Procharger plastic intake tube on eBay!

I use an Anderson Power pipe. It was a huge pain to install, but worth 1-2 extra PSI over the stock Procharger.

If you don't use it, there is a guy looking for one in the Cobra forum. You should be able to get your $20 back! I can send you his email. Or you could just sell it on eBay.

Wow what a small world it is with web sites like this.
i proable wont use the procharger inlet pipe,
i cant afford to loose any boost right now.
i have 7.78 lbs of boost with 2.90 dia, pully.
i should be getting close to 10 or 11 psi boost,
but my belt tensioner only has like 1/4" to go and i can flex the belt alot.
can anybody recommend a better belt tension then stock?
the tension is only a year old.
i am thinking a better belt tensioner and possible a belt 1" shorter??
any thoughts would be appreciated. (1998 cobra)

I am having belt problems myself...see my post. Anyways, there is a better tensioner, it is made by Thump RRR Racing. It is a billet piece, but pricey! Around $350-395 depending on the configuration.

With a 2.9 pulley you should see way more PSI then that. What intercooler are you running? I was seeing 13-14 with 3.4 pulley, 10% overdrive balancer, Anderson power pipe and treadstone intercooler.

its a p600b prochager, i dont think its as good or effecint as yours.
and i have a 3 core intercooler.
i think with the 2.9 dia. pully, prochrger rated this kit for approx 10-11 psi
but i will never know unitl i get less belt slip.

power pipe vs stock crap

I changed a stock plastic intake for a power pipe with back to back runs on a 224 Dynojet during a dyno day in Phoenix and gained 14 RWHP. The owner wanted me to leave it on but it was off my own car. No cash no pipe.

So I sold him a new one. Definitely worth the money.

Thanks to all who responded to my dumb axx questions.
Haters dont need to respond. Take your dumb insulates somewhere elese.
i appreacte all the answers i get, it has helped me install my supercharger over the last year and make huge h.p. gains on my car.
my next dumb question is; long tube headers or short ones?
how much gain do you think i would get? is it really worth the $ and effort?

The long tubes will lower your boost a little bit but you will pick up some power. I would say a minimum of 20hp or so. To squeeze everything out of that motor with that blower I would say it is worth it. It will be a PITA to install them. The best way to do it would be to drop the k-member and rent a strut tower engine brace to keep the motor in place while you do the install. I never installed long tubes but if I had too that would be the way I would tackle that job.

Thats the tensioner ive got on my build... by the way its a MONSTER!!! It makes the original one look like it came off of a matchbox car!!! Pricey=yes, but well worth it!!!!! :).
