I was looking through the Mustang Owner's Guide the other day looking for the torque spec for the lug nuts (btw - 95 ftlb) when I came across this:
"Recommended shift speeds
Do not downshift into 1 (first) when your vehicle is moving faster then 24 km/h (15 mph). This will damage the clutch."
Keep in mind that the above recommendation is for the stock 3.27 differential ratio. I chuckled to myself and thought that I should be on my 100th clutch replacement by now. Odd - I still have the factory clutch installed with no slip. I guess Ford figured that the average driver just doesn't understand rpm matching when downshifting.
