When I first took delivery of my 2008 I already had the SCT proracer software and I loaded a 93 tune when I got home (The car was used and had 1300mi, a 62yr old Shelby enthusiast owned it.) There's a lot of room in the timing of these cars, with 9psi of boost, and the usual bolt on's, I am safely running 23.8' of total timing.(stock data log's at 20') That's on an 75'-80' deg day.
You've got at least 91 or better in the tank, I wouldn't drag race or red line it on a 98' high humidity day.....but it really should be fine. Who knows if 93 pump gas is really 93, It's not aviation fuel or race gas where it's held to a stricter standard. Your tune should not be on the edge of a couple octane points. When I first took delivery of my 2008 I already had the SCT proracer software and I loaded a 93 tune when I got home (The car was used and had 1300mi, a 62yr old Shelby enthusiast owned it.) I had knock at 3200rpms, I knew the dealership put 87oct in. At half tank I filled it with 93 and the detonation went away. There's a lot of room in the timing of these cars, with 9psi of boost, and the usual bolt on's, I am safely running 23.8' of total timing.(stock data log's at 20') That's on an 75'-80' deg day. I'm not saying everyone shouldn't run the best pump gas that's available in their area, I'm just saying not to worry.
