Me and a buddy were talking about how tickets affect your insurance rates.

An example would be if I am not insured on anything and I was cited driving someone elses vehicle, would there insurance be affected? How does that work?

Thanks.

Getting a ticket puts points on the DRIVER'S record, so the person driving would see the rate increase.

[EDIT]

Damn, Hlistr_07RR beat me to it.

I know that would be the case IF that person had insurance on his own vehicle. But lets say they aren't insured on anything. Their name is on nobody's policy. They just get points on their license, and that's it?

Ticket goes on your DL, the insurance company reviews your driving record then see's you had a ticket then yours will go up when you get insurance.
