Sweet! I used to go there every Sunday night when I was stationed at Fort Bliss. There were 2 guys there that were budies. They had 2 Chevy Drag cars (I believe they were Novas?) that could beat bikes on the 1/4 mile. And yes, that drag strip used to be an airport runway. They opened it because a lot of street racing deaths occurred a couple years ago and they wanted to give people a safe place to race.
