radiator fan woes...

...long story short, last night i heard a noise coming from the front of the car. after some poking around it seems my rad fan is on it's way out.

so here's the $64k question for you guys - should i replace it with another OEM or look to other alternatives? i swore i remember reading a thread a while back about peope switching to a Lincoln Mark 8 electric fan but i'll be damned if i can find it. tried search on the subject and came up empty. are there any aftermarket replacements that offer more cfm and/or longer life span?

IMO, its not worth the hassle, buy an OEM fan. I had the Mark 8 on my 91foxbody and required a considerable amount of fabrication.

good to know, thanks man. i seem to remember reading that the Mark 8 shroud needed to be modified along with splicing it into the wiring harness.

i was also eyeballing this fan/shroud combo from Mishimoto:

but i've been reading mixed reviews when i Google search it...
