So for some reason, I never thought about this till now...call it a duh moment if you will. I have 4.10's in the rear, and an FRPP aluminum driveshaft. Should I or should I not take off that dogbone? I'm pretty sure it can go in the trash since the gear change makes it useless, but I want opinions from others.

After I rebuilt the rearend with 31 spline axles, 31 spline Trac-Loc differential and had the aluminum DS balanced I removed the "Dog bone" and haven't experienced any problems as a result. It seems to me Ford added that weight to counter a noise and/or vibration problem with the 8.8 rear end.

my noob time, whats a dog bone
It's a cast iron weight fastened to the outside of rear end pumpkin to counter harmonics that sometimes occur with the 8.8 rear end. It's shaped like a dog bone some what, hence the name "Dog Bone".
