Rear facing fender emblems

Anyone know exactly why the fender emblems on the cobras are not standard. Mine faces to the rear as have many other I've seen but I have also seen them facing forward. I originally though that mine had been repaired and the right was placed on the left and vice versa but apparently that not the case. I was just wondering if anyone knew why there is a difference.

Stock ones should face toward the front. Seems like some people change them though. The '93 Cobras had the left side facing the rear because Ford only made them one way (poor planning?). Anyway, starting in '94 they fixed them and the fender emblems should face the front.

this has been discussed in the past and it seems that some cars just came that way. maybe it was the guys on the assembly line getting them mixed up or just not paying attention. Mine is that way, and a friend of mine here has them backwards as well.
