Rear O2 sensor question

I just installed my headers and offroad x pipe. One of my rear O2 sensors is to short to plug in. I will be turning them off with my SCT Tuner anyways and I was wondering if I need to get an extension to keep these plugged in or can I just completely remove them, without them throwing a code after I turn them off with the tuner.

You can just install a o2 bung plug and remove them if they are turned off.

They should reach. If not you're doing something wrong.

Plug and remove if they will be turned off. They aren't reading anything anyway if they are off.

OK thanks, I have some O2 plugs I'll throw in. Not doing anything wrong, the passenger rear just wont reach, trust me I pulled the harness pushpins off the transmission to get more reach out of it and it's still to short. I can force it to plug in but the wires are pulled so tight I'm sure it would eventually brake the wires at the sensor.
