Rear shocks

installing rear shocks on a 98 cobra. Just wanted to make sure I'm doing this right. Pic:

the conical (cone shaped) rubber piece slips on the shock below the car and the other rubber mount goes on top right?

However when I try to do it like this there isnt enough of the threaded shaft to tighten the nut!

You'll have to put a jack under the rear to raise the shock up in the mounting hole. Or... You could have somebody start the nuts on the top side while you hold the shock from the bottom...

okay, but the rubber pieces go on as I have pictured correct? just wanted to make sure

Yes, you have the rubbers the correct way. Big one to underside of car, small on thru interior. Move your jack to the side you are tightening and jack up that side of teh rear end until there is enough thread showing for you to tighten. Ditto for other side.
