I just got my 5.0 in today and see that the rear tire shows little too much fender well for what I like. It has 235/50/18 and I want to go least an inch taller to show less fender well and I want to go an inch wider tire as well. What would be the best size for this?

An inch taller will look like a bus tire plus it will only fill in 1/2".
Half inch wider will be around 260mm ish.

I played this game when I got my car, unfortunately there just is not a ton of choices out there for the stock wheels.

I bit the bullet by lowering my car and putting 19" wheels on.

The tire on this car is much taller then anything Ford has ever used on any mustang. (27.6)
Just lower the car 1in all the way around. The Steeda Spoert springs are my choice. If u go any taller you will cut the gearing in the car add weigh, mess the speedo up and yes it will look like a bus.
U can go widder these cars are weak in that area but the factory rims limit u. Stick with what u have until you can put an 11in. rim on the back. IMOP

I had the stock premium 19's and went with a different wheel/tire combo. The rear is a 19x 10 with a 275 40r 19 and it looks just fine without lowering:
