Rear Window Tinting

Anyone had success tinting over the little dots without the air bubble effect making it look like a cheap job?

My tint shop uses a black piece of vinyl. Looks great and sticks very well.

Mine was tinted over the dots and is now coming loose. It was tinted when I bought the car. I went the other day and talked to my local tint shop; he said they normally did one of two things: (1) sand dots and tint or (2) paint the dotted area black.

Black vinyl from the inside of the car. Looks great. That is the only way I would let anyone do my car. I had to tell the shop to do it this way on my '01 when I had it too.
