Rebuild or Sell

I bought this 2001 Cobra last year and walked a head, so naturally I pulled the motor and had the heads redone and checked the block out, everything was fine. sealed it back up with felpro gaskets and carried on. Now after getting back from deployment my car was with my brother who had no idea you had to check the oil (he dailies a civic). Now I have a low end knock and don't know if I should rebuild or just sell.

+1 on the Mach 1 Engine. A good rebuild will be in the $4000 range. I found a very good used Mach 1 engine on Ebay for less than $3000, and sold the good parts from my blown engine to help with the costs so it ended up being cheaper than a rebuild.

If you are considering going forced induction down the road I would recommend the rebuild with forged internals. Otherwise you will be limited in the power output from the stock internals. If you don't plan on forced induction then the Mach 1 block is a great option.

Pick up a flea bay engine and move on.
