Reman Engine problems

I bought a remanufactured engine with the right code 3M5Z-6006-AARM but I have some problems. The head seems completley different with smaller intake ports and the soleniod in the top frontcamcover is missing in the new engine. Do I have a 2005 engine for my 2003 car or does anyone have any ideas?

The 2005 motor has the intake and exhaust flopped-front to back. Probably not a 2005, you would have noticed that.
