Removable rubber ring

This rubber ring was in the glovebox when I bought my '13 GT. I never could figure out what it is for. What in the world is it?

It goes in one of your cup holder.. as a spacer for certain cups I guess.. don't really know

The cup holders are equal depth with the insert in place. Without it one is deeper than the other. Not really a big deal for most people. I leave it there just because it looks better flush.
