We replaced the passenger side half shaft on my prothers 03, it broke the outside joint. Replaced with stock ford half shaft. Replacement of the shaft went easy. Got it all back together and took it for a test drive everything seemed fine when accelerating except a couple of pops when taking off. But when decelerating in gear the car starts vibrating and chattering its comming from the rear. We havent pulled the diff cover yet. Does anyone have any ideas or helpfull insite? We are worried that when the axle broke that inturn broke something in the diff. Please help.

yank the pumpkin from the car, get your dial indicator out, and measure the rollout of the ring gear or the edge of the ring gear mounting flange on the diff.
if its more than a hair, the case is tweaked, or something else is coddywompus.

When I broke the first axle the car was never the same, lots of tranny noise since then, especially on decel.
