You better be able to hang with him, you've got a 4.6 SOHC.

Make sure your SCT is tuned by a reliable tuner. Adjust shift points and eliminate TQ lock up until 63mph.

It'll make it much more responsive.

...in a car that weighs around 2.5 tons (literally). How much do S2000s weigh? 2,500 lbs?

Heaviness of the car doesn't mean that much.

Today at Milan I witnessed an 11 second Marauder wax an SRT4.
Dennis in Florida will take good care of you.

You might want to visit us over at www.mercurymarauder.net for more modding ideas.

Of course a smaller and lighter car can wax us sedans, but try to fit 5 adults in a neon. Not trying to diss anyone, but just because a cars heavy doesn't mean it can't fly.

I actually meant that for the original poster. In any case, I can see a big car like that holding it's own with some FI, but stock for stock, it wouldn't stand a chance.

well.. I'm going to guess that the S2000 wasn't running properly, since it's capable of high 13's in the 1/4, at 100-101 for a trap speed.. not sure what a Grand Marquis runs, but with less hp (the S2000 comes stock with 240, and about 200 to the ground) and and like someone else said an extra 2000(I'll say 1500 extra over the 2810 lbs for the S2000)

When I had my S2000, I wouldn't bother to initiate a race with a car like a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis.. but would go after cars such as Z28's and 99+ Mustang V8's..

I'm having a hard time believing this one. Stock times for a late model Merc G/M is approx 16.2. You'll need more than 3.73's to hang with a 14 flat s2000.

What? It means everything.

Well, he did say that he "hung with him better than I thought I would."

Doesn't mean he beat the S2000, it just wasn't an all out trouncing like he was expecting.
