So I'm going down the highway this morning in my G/F's car (91 protege: 1.8 liters of DOHC fury baby! The cobra is in the shop getting blown:burnout:)

Anyway I'm running late for this meeting and I'm kind of hauling when up the road I see a huge puff of smoke going down the road, I mean it is engulfing all 4 lanes of traffic and I can smell the oil. I figure its just some old pos because I can't even see the car that is responsible for this huge oil cloud. Well as I get closer I can kind of see the back of the car and wait a second....hey I think thats a vette.
Smoke is pouring out of the back and it looked like it was leaving a trail on the pavement, so I move over to the far left lane and start to pass the vette when I realize that its not just any vette but a new ZO6. I felt really bad for the guy, he just kind of look over towards me as I passed with a hopless/embarrssed look on his face. I wanted to stop and help him but I was already late and really couldn't have done anything for him.

Best I can figure it blew because.....well I guess because it's a chebby.

He probably mis-shifted when downshifting. People that are new to stick or just idiots sometimes do this. It's good to know what MPH to drop it too. Maybe he was going for 3rd and hit 1st. Ouch.

Maybe he did the "drain all the oil out of the motor mod". I heard its a really good weight reduction on the Z06 :)

What's the BFD if it was a blown motor  ??? All cars are subject to blown engines even the mighty terminator Cobra on stock boost.
