I've been working on my 5.4 dohc swap and one of my main goals is to keep my stock hood. I lowered the engine in the bay but still had issues with the intake mani. i had the karkraft adapters welded to my intake manifold then had a machine shop modify where the injectors sit. It turned out really well BUT it was still a little too tall. So now I am going to just build a sheet metal lower intake that's low profile with 8.5 in. long runners, and as for the throttle body i'm going to have the top of the lower intake accept the stock hat with the iac and egr parts on it. has anyone else tried this? I already have it planned out but would like any feed back.

Havent seen it before, but sounds like a nice idea. Are you planning on leaving the shaker on too or just having the upper manifold sit out of the hood?

ya i plan to keep the shaker, that's the whole reason i want to do a low profile sheet metal intake, no one makes an option for one that fits under the shaker
