I'm guessing my tach has been doing this for quite some time only now it's loud enough to hear over my exhaust & stereo. When I sweep between 2000-2200 rpm, I hear a slight "buzz". Almost like a small bearing flutter. Anyone else ever have this happen? I'm guessing I'll need to take it apart and start lubing things but I don't want to affect the accurracy of the tach. If it hasn't happened to anyone else, maybe I'll be looking for a used tach.

Other than bearings going bad (or needing lube) maybe a small screw or bolt has backed out and 2000-2200 rpm has the right harmonics to make it vibrate.

Just a thought, good luck.
