I'm either bad at using Google or this is just a dumb idea of mine. From the title, I'm sure you can figure out what's going on here, but I have access to a 97 GT from a friend. And I have an 07 with a blown auto trans which I know is my fault for buying an auto .

I also know I'd be better off buying a donor car to do the swap but in my area, it is pretty rare to see one of these cars pop up for more than 7k and even more rare to find in the junkyard around here.

I know there would be quite a few parts I'd have to either source or make myself. What I mostly wanna know is if it will fit nicely in the trans tunnel or if am I going to have to cut a lot of metal out to make it fit. And a general idea of what parts I would need to look for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

It won't work. The trans in the 97 isn't set up for the hydraulic TOB. The shifter would be in the wrong place. And IIRC the S197's have a bolt together CV joint at the tailshaft. The 97 has a slip yoke.
