So what really makes the 13-14's have 8 more hp?

Ok so I've been reading up a lot on what the changes were on the 2013 coyote were. I was wondering, where does the 8 extra hp come from? Is it from the oil squirters being removed and the tune or ONLY from the tune? (i.e. is there anything mechanically that gains hp?)

IIRC, back to back dyno doesn't show this increase. It's a wash. There are too many variations in the power each engine makes to find out.

Example:

Some 2011's make minimum 412, some dyno higher 420-430 crank so it really is hard to say.

However, someone posted a graph of the 2013 dyno stating it had a better powerband than the 11-12's. maybe a revised factory PCM tune?

I honestly believe it is due to slightly reduced friction due to elimination of piston oiling jets.

more aggressive tune, no oil squirters. 13s seem to make around 10whp more then 11-12s. just from browsing YT.
