So it looks like the Timesert is the way to go for now. I have a mechanic who has done the repair on many different modular v8's that will just charge 1 hour of labor ($60) plus the cost of the Timesert sleeve, COP, and 8 new plugs.

If you don't mind me asking, who is your mechanic?

I live in your same area, and am always on the lookout for good shops

I did the exhaust and intake installs myself.
Haywood Custom Speed in Cary for my pulley and first couple of tunes/dyno runs.
Ray from Haywood (no longer works there) for my spring and h/e installs.
Fastlane Motorsports in Benson/Angier looked at my spark plug issue. I chose not to replace the head, so I had to find someone willing to repair it on the car. I recently found out my dad grew up with the owner, so I thought I would give them a shot.
A guy by the name of Mike Ellis did the insert for me. His shop is in Hillsborough and he can work on anything. He is very knowledgeable and even let me do some of the work. A guy that I work with told me about him and helped me tow my car up there.

I would say check out Haywood and Fastlane. They are both great with our cars and have competitive prices. Pay each of them a visit and see which one you like better. Good Luck.
