Speed-o stopped working

I was on I-20 the other day and all of a sudden my speedo went from 80 back
to 0. Got home and everything is hooked up on the trans. What should I check next? Thanks for the help. By the way my car is a 96 Cobra

Check the speed-o gear in the transmission. If you have the factory 3.27 it should be a white gear (I could be wrong) inside the trans.

I would actually take the speedo gear out of the tranny and inspect it. These things can lose some/all their teeth and become useless, a lot of odometer gears fail this way too.
