Greetings, Folks

2011 mustang GT

Possible Toe Issue.

Current front suspension mods: Steeda Bump Steer Kit, BMR front Control arms w/ extended ball joints, BMR K-member lowered motor mounts w/brace. BMR radiator support w/brace, GT500 J&M camber caster plates, GT500 Koni Oranges, Ford Racing drop srpings, and Camber bolts.

Okay, after putting the steeda bump steer kit in along with the new control arms from BMR I noticed that the Toe on my passenger side was toed out a little far just by looking at it by eye sight. I have reached the max amount toe in on both passenger and driver side and it still looks like its toed out to far on the passenger side.... I can not adjust the toe in any further on driver or passenger side. ???!!!???? Confused ???!!!???

Any ideas?

Im taking it to the alignment shop in the morning to get another opinion...I have got the Camber set about .5 to 1 degree using my gauge... Caster set to max on both sides all the way back to the firewall.

Toe is about 37 inches in the front and 36 1/2 inches in the back.. Using a tape measure. Can not get it zeroed out. Bumpsteer kit causing the issue?

I think it's possible you could have went the wrong way with your bump steer kit. I have nearly identical setup with no problems. Looking at your front end at ride height, the steering arms should be very near parallel with the A arms.

I'm at the Ford dealer now getting the alignment done. Talked to specialist used to work for rousch. He does not like bump steer kit..said it was dangerous. It. Could back out. He's checking the toe now..

Yeah the machine will not work with the vehicle being so low....I'll have to take it some place else...with a hawk eye alingment rack...

Okay so here is an update...I got home took a nap, been sick since 11/28/17. Caught the flu twice started again on 12/25/17 just my luck.

Well any way, I took the Steeda Bump Steer Kit off the car and put factory tie rods back on it. Only other option would be to shave down the inner tie rod some so that I could screw the bumper steer kit in further to bring the toe in. I'm going to take the car to another place tomorrow to see if they can align it.

Three hours past by this evening working on the car getting the wheels straightened out. Camber set to around approximately 1 degree negative using a little camber gauge on got placing it on the rotor with suspension loaded.

Using the old straight edge and tape measure trick I managed to almost 0 out the toe so should make it easier on them to mess with...

I had to retake the driver side back apart and turn the plates 180 degrees to adjust the camber it was way out to 3 degrees negative and I could not get the plates to go out any further and also the camber bolt to adjust to bring the camber more positive. I must of had the plates turned to race setup mode or something. Now it is set so that the camber bolt is null and could be used to adjust it either way.

O yea if any one else has the same issue with Steeda Bumpsteer kit. You will have to shave down the inner tie rod and tap the threads if you have the toe out issue.

So I finally got around to shaving the tie rods. Shaved down about half inch On the passenger side and about a quarter of an inch on the driver side.

Before I had bad toe out. With steering wheel 45 degrees to the right when centered. Now I got the steering wheel pretty much centered
With the toe almost zeroed out...I'll have to put it on alignment rack. Was using a tape measure.Using 57 and a half as a guideline. From left to rim to right rim that I had marked with a crayon.

It’s possible when the rack went back in with the kmember you installed the steering shaft off from where it was previously. You should have an equal amount off turns from center to lock left and right

I hung a weight on a string tied to the steering wheel.

Do to the issue I put the original rods back in then had the toe aligned. Steering wheel straight with k member.... I drove the car for months with no problems other then bump steer.

When I put the steeda kit in both tires toe out when both steeda rods are cranked down till they bottom out.

In the long run I shaved down both inner tie rods. I still need to shave a few more threads down On the passenger side a tad more. To straighten the steering wheel out.
