Aerodynamics have always escaped me, I've been meaning to read up on and possibly make some alterations to my car but that'll most likely come after college.=/

I only assumed it pulled decent air cause it defrosts that side of my windshield much quicker than the passenger side while I'm driving.

Ok, so I might make it where it can slide back and forth for cold mornings instead of just sealing it off altogether. ;-)

With aerodynamics generally what I thought would work, I should do the exact opposite.

I recommend Competition Car Aerodynamics by Simon McBeath, this book helped clear up some of my misconceptions and explain why aero mods work the way they do.

The land of commies and socialists!
Bringing this one back up for some additional questions.

Does anyone have ideas on how modify this hood to make it more efficient?

Extend the louvers maybe to get them more into the flow of air?

How about completely removing the first louver to open the entire area up similar to the first vent on a tiger racing hood with a small lip up front to get the air to pop up over the remaining louvers?

I make them all about 1/2" to 5/8" all the hoods i have done. Here is where i got the idea for the lip in front of the opening.
