Hey everyone,

Was thinking of picking up a JLT CAI for my stock (engine) 2001 Cobra. I always read varying opinions on the effectiveness of CAI's in general. Some swear by them, some say they are useless as a standalone upgrade. Does anyone have this specific CAI for their 2001 Cobra? Not sure I am buying their 10-15 HP gain claim but I would love to hear some feedback.

Would rather not spend $300 if there is no noticeable difference.

If the intake is your only mod, invest the $300 into something that will provide more gains on its own. A tune alone will provide more HP.

If you are after an under hood appearance mod, go for it.

I wouldn’t waste your time on a CAI. Exhaust will net good gains, but boost/nitrous is where it’s at on our 4.6 engines.

Pick your poison.

I think the gain from the cai is really just from the kn filter that they use.

I've posted something I've called "the nasvt recipe"
You might find it useful.

I did a 4V swap on my car. Went out of my way to find a mint 99/01 style stock intake including the rubber horn. Paper filter. Car runs like a raped ape and throw some Meguiars on that CAI/rubber and it actually looks pretty good. CAI is a looks only mod. The stock one is a true CAI already and half the aftermarket "cold air kits" don't even have a fender draw and will actually raise the air charge temp.

Spend your money elsewhere.
