Stock hood vents popping out

I have modified stock hood vents so they can open and close. However, in the heat, the vents seem to pop out a little every now and then, and I have to pop them back in. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I fix?

I can't help but wonder if this happens because my hood vent flaps are just hanging down. I tried velcro to keep them open, but it gets too hot under there and the velcro just melts off.

Try cutting them off. They're too restrictive when closed.

I cut off my flaps but mine stay nice and snug~ what exactly did you do when you modified them?

Mine are cut off, car gets rained on all the time, never an issue with it.

I did not modify them. I bought them like that. The flaps completely open and close. So if I ever get stuck in the rain, I can close them. Is this not a common way to do it?
