I have never thought stroker kits were worth the money vs the hp/tq gained vs the decreased engine life.

Not only are the stroker kits more expensive but they usually cost more to balance because the shop will have to add mallory metal to the counter weights at $75 to $90 a slug.

Next you factor in all that additional expense for roughly 20 maybe 30 more hp and similar tq and the fact that people with a lot more knowledge and understanding than I who agree that the service limit of them is around 50,000 miles as the pistons rocking in the bore at BDC cause additional cylinder and piston wear.

To me its a no brainer to stick with a stock stroke 4.6. My suggestion is that you pm NA svt and discuss with him your power goals. I'm sure he can either spec you some cams or point you towards some off the shelf pieces, port your manifold and tell you what compression ratio will be needed to make the power you want.

Exactly. Unless your want every past bit of power they are not worth the added expense. If I were you I'd get a quality set of pistons, boss rods, oem tty mains and head bolts for the short block and fallow whatever NA svt says for the top end.

It seems to be pretty hard to make major power on a 4.6 mod motor staying N/A. It's really not worth the expense for what you get. Like ^^^^^^ said, you can go with boost really cheap. That's what really wakes these cars up, and IMO it's the only way to go.
