Swapping in non ABS Live Axel

Hey guys, Im looking into swapping rear axels with a guy and he is worried about swapping since I do not have ABS on my 95. I wanted to know what would be the consequences of putting a non ABS axel in? Can abs be installed?

I would assume if it has the proper tone rings and the holes for the sensors you could just plug them in. If not then no dice.
