Took my Cobra into the dealer to have them check out the transmission. I went for a drive with the shop foreman and showed him what it does.
Under decel in 3rd gear there is a really loud gear whine. You can have the windows down and the stereo on at a low-mid volume and still hear it.
He said they would have to contact Ford to see if they wanted them to go into the transmission to fix the problem or to replace the entire thing.
It didn't occur to me at the time, but I read on here before that they can't rebuild/service the Tremec transmissions at all. Is this accurate information? If so, it worries me that the shop foreman didn't know this...
