Just a junkyard pullout 5.3 with a turbo. D.T.R. my dealer never told me what was wrong with the first one. At the time it happened, it was so early on that Ford told them not to bother tearing it apart, just to ship it to Dearborn so their engineers could go through it. The second one they've replaced the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, input shaft, 1-2 shift fork, and 2nd gear synchros. It still doesn't shift to 2nd under WOT. So they decided to replace the transmission. I believe it's a GT pressure plate problem. For some it's the added power, and for others, like me, it's the added rpm's from the Boss intake. I shift at 7700 so I can take advantage of extra power in the upper rpm's, and I just don't believe the stock pressure plate can release at those rpm's. I'm curious what the differences are between the Boss clutch and pressure plate and our GT set-up.
