Hey guys , my apologies if I'm putting this in the wrong forum .

I have a 2012 GT500 and currently have 17x10 Welds on the back with M/T 305/45/17's . Like the tires , but they kind of leave a lot of wheel gap . I do NOT plan on lowering the car and am wondering if anyone had any experience with the M/T ET Street R's - 315/50/17's which they list as being 29.4 " with a 12.7 section width (I had the stock Shelby 20's with M/T 305 / 35/20's before this , measuring 28.7 " tall and had plenty of room ) Using those demensions , I measured and it looks as if they will clear , with the only close point being the inside by the shock wich has about an inch of space now - current tire has a 11.9 sectiom width .

Saw one guy on the internet running 30" Hoosiers on a 14' GT , but that tire probably has different demensions .....

Thanks in advance for any input .

Why is lowering the car not an option again? I would much rather do that than sport a 29.4/30 inch tire. I mean, I'm rocking a 28.7" tire myself, but that's because there is little other choice on 20's. Just cut the rear springs if you have to. JMO.

I guess I could juts cut the springs , but then with the current tires , the rear of the car would be sitting lower than the front , so I would then do the front , also .

I like the look of the lowered Mustang , but as of now the front spoiler will scrape in certain situations , so I cant imagine another inch lower .

No doubt , it looks great though .

I used a 295-65/r15 et street R last time wich is like 30.2" tall and it is the best fitting tire i have ever ran. The section width is 12.1" and the tread width is 10.5" wich makes clearing the outer fender much easier than having a wider tire like a 315 or 325.

What size and backspacing are the rear wheels? Also there's a line/groove on the tire sidewall that looks to be from rubbing on the outer fender edge. Is that just a coincide or has the fender worn in this line/groove?

Its 15x10" .....7.5" backspace...... 51mm offset. The line on that tires is just how the tires comes.... i havent rubbed at all yet.

I just posted pics in the ‘13-14 section of the 315/50/17 tire. It hooks hard. About the same as the 325/45/18 Hoosier I had on before. These are the stickiest DRs made and they hook 1000hp from second gear on the street.
