Hey guys... I unbolted the exhaust on the SHO awhile ago and made a little vid. I don't remember if I posted it or not (I went back through some of my old posts and didn't see it...) so here it is. Sorry if it's a repost tho...

But it's certainly worth a second look anyways, IMO :pop:

And really, this vid does not do the car justice...for real, if you're driving it, you can't talk to the person next to you it's so @#$^#& loud...but I love it. :coolman:

Enjoy!!

lol...yeah I know, sounds kinda like someone stuck the exhaust pipe in a bucket of water below 2k rpms... "blub-blub-blub-blub"

Trust me, it sounds better once the revs get up a bit.

v8 SHOs sound amazing.... too bad my v6 SHO doesnt sound like that :(

oh well.. i got speed to back it up :)

Ohhhh yeah...really, it just gives me chills listening to that thing after the intake runners open up...just sounds awesome. :coolman:

Here's my other 2 vids, with the exhaust bolted up but with a cone K&N air filter. Note in the second vid at 3400 rpms where the short runners open....mmmmmmmm  lol

But...unfortunately yes, a V6 would leave me in the dust. Kinda odd how each generation of the SHO got slower....lol

Still, a V6 with stock exhaust and a cone filter sounds pretty amazing...they have awesome motor noise, just horrible exhaust sounds.

Huh?? Care to eloborate? So an older V6 SHO is fater than a newer V8 SHO? Wow, that makes a lot of sense.

Well the v8 is heaver, only has 15 more hp, and has no manual transmission option, so yes v6 shos are faster than v8 shos. I know, I know, "v8's can neva lose!" well in this case they can and do.

I realize that V8s can lose, but seems a bit strange that in the same model car, one with a V6 or V8 option, that the V8 option is slower? Wow, what genius at Ford made this decision?

Well the v8 sho was only in the jellybean style(96-99)taurus which was a couple hundred pounds heavier than the first 2 generations which both had the yamaha v6. But yeah i get what your saying and its a shame with all the potential these motors had they have to go through their life in a fwd sedan.

they are two totally different cars.

the v8 has a little bit more HP.. but a shitty automatic and its heavy.

its a Yamaha motor with Ford heads

my motor is a FULL Yamaha motor.

And its a tossup between the gen 1 and gen 2.

gen 1s are lights.. but they have a shitty cable shifter.

all of the SHOs i have raced i have beaten pretty bad, even when i was stock.

the V8 SHO would be neck and neck with an automatic v6 SHO

Here are some videos.

most are with just a catback.

Actually the V8 is the other way around. It's a Ford shortblock with Yamaha designed heads but FORD cams.

As for the V6ers, 89's are a tad lighter than the 90-91. The 91 (after May) came with a rod shifter. But another SHO saying is '92 owns joo'.
