Wow...the whine from the Eaton is more pronounced, and on my stock boost guage, it's going almost to 10...just a hair shy. Never saw it go that far before.

Not a terrible install, and yes...(lowering head) I did drill the hole. The connector on the MAF tube (not the MAF wires..the other one) were bumping on the intercooler relay box.

Looks great and I think a nice difference in performance, although I only drove around the block. Unlike some other mods, it does not make so much noise that it would become a nuisance in a daily driver.

Thanks for the info guys!

Sounds good man, they install very nicely, helped my buddy put one on. Directions kinda sucks but what directions don't, lol. Take your hood blanket off and you'll really hear that eaton whine :)

Matt,

No worries drilling the hole - it's all good. You might want to get a high-density rubber washer and a license plate sized screw and put the rubber washer between the intake arm that fastens to the car. Use the larger diameter screw to secure it in place. You might find with the sheet metal screw supplied by K&N, it will work it's way loose because the intake unit moves around. Mine kept loosening up, so I left the hole size the same and put a larger screw in it. The rubber washer will reduce the vibration, and won't scratch the paint -

Mint Julep--thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye on it...and I will put a washer underneath, good advice.

How many of you guys have the fipk and didn't drill the hole? I put mine on last week and did not drill.
Thanks.

I got mine at ajusa.com and at first I didn't drill the hole. Then I got paranoid about it bouncing around, took it out, drilled the hole and reinstalled it. Still snug.

Did not drill the hole and has not moved at all in 3000 miles.Another bonus is the sound like taking your finger off the carb hole on a bong when you step on it.And of course the blower is loud and clear now also.
