You are smart to run race gas. 18-19lbs can become 21lbs when the temps drop. I burned 2 holes in pistons a year ago with 19 degrees, 11.6af when my 19lbs became 20+ in 45 degree weather at the track. $8500 later and a new motor I run 98 octane all of the time. I now run 21lbs boost, 21 degrees and 98 octane minimum and 11.5af. I have never heard of running 23 degrees with 19lbs on pump gas, Never. The difference between 18 degrees advance on 93 octane and 23 degrees on race gas might only be 30hp so you decide.

23 degrees is total peak at 6500 and does not include any of the retard tables which can remove up to 4 degrees. Keep in mind it ramps up to that point. At 6k his tune is calling for 20 degrees total, but will only see about 18-19 degrees. You can run a fare amount of timing if you run the a/f a little on the fat side or 12.0 a/f with light timing, but not both. All cars are different. So this car with race gas mix 11.0 a/f and 19-20 degrees at 6500 is very safe. I don't touch the tables that add fuel or retard timing on street cars. Taking these tables to zero and running a straight timing is what causing motors to go.
