When I bought my NGP+ coolant, I also ordered an Evans 180 high-flow thermostat. However, I didn't install it. The reason is though it fits the housing fine, the design of the Evan's unit is essentially a traditional thermostat, vice the extended stock one that comes in the Cobra:
Stock 04 Thermostat:
Picture of the Evan's replacement thermostat:
Notice how the bottom of the stock thermostat extends down much further than the Evan's replacement. This appears to block the hose that comes down from the crossover tube, though the spring is pretty weak, so it obviously doesn't take much to open it up.
My question: Can I use the "traditional" looking Evan's thermostat?
Thanks for any input.
