Those with 20" rims, did you change your rear gears?

To help with performance, mileage, etc...or thoughts on this?

wheel size wont really change anything. i went from the stock 18's to 20's with a 315/35/20 and it drove the same as stock

If the speed sensor is in the rear, that tire will make a huge difference. Not sure where its at on this car though.

Especially if you stay within the same diameter when selecting tire sizes.

Exactly!

Negative, brother! When I went from the stock 18" wheels/tires to my 20" Steeda Spyder wheels with 315/35/20 tires on the rear, the speedo was definitely off. You will certainly need to adjust the revs per mile in the tune if you choose this tire, as there is around 1.4" of difference between the stock 18's (235/50/18) and the 315/35/20's tires mounted on the 20" Steeda wheels on the car now.

he was asking about changing the rear gears in the car, not changing the speedometer calibration. you do not need to change the rear end gears to swap rim sizes.

Yeah, I was responding to your initial response in this thread. I just assumed that he was going to put 315/35/20 tires on his car, as I have on mine, and you posted about as well in your initial response in this thread. In which case, he would be better off swapping his 3.31's out for 3.73's, like I did, because if you do the math, 3.31 gears with 28.6" tall tires on these cars would be like a 3.11, or so, nominal gear ratio with the 315/35/20's. That's why I went with 3.73 gears on my car now, which came with 3.31's from the factory. Again, doing the math, the extra overall tire diameter would put my 3.73's that are now in the car into the realm of the 3.55 gear range:beer:
