Yep. Friday I got off of work at 4, changed the tires on both cars, and headed to Friday Nite Street Shootout.
So, me and my father took both cars, then we switched up.
My First Run: I was paired up against a PT Cruiser. This was my FIRST TIME EVER DRAG RACING, legally. I was pretty pumped.. staged, waited for the second yellow light, then nailed it. The PT Cruiser hung through 1st and half of 2nd, and I pulled in 3rd. I won with a 2~ margin.

1/4MPH--85.88
Not a bad R/T for my VERY FIRST TIME. 16.0, yea.. I know. But, remember, I was using 205/70/15 BFGoodrich Control T/A's, I have 3.08 rear, and non trac-lock. (open differential).
My Second Run: I got to take out the Camaro. I was against a beat early 80's Trans Am, with a 305. Staged, left at the second light, but redlighted with a -.0989 R/T. B!tch! I decided to floor it through 1 and 2, and coasted to a finish. I still had a 3.3 second margin of win on the TransAm...

My Third, and Final Run: Last run of the night. I knew I had to go for broke (literaly and figurativley). I was against a 10 second Nova. I didnt want to be embarresed..I wanted mid 15's. I did a nice big-ole burnout, even though its probably useless for street tires. Anywho, I nailed it on the second yellow light, and the car shut off. I turned the key, and it didnt even sputter, and my gas was all the way down. I switched the key off and put it in N, i thought the throttle got stuck at WOT. I had to be pushed off the track infront of a stand of people. After further inspection I had snapped the throttle cable. I had to leave TealBird at the track over night, and first thing in the morning I went to get a new cable at the junkyard. Heres the ironic thing, the JUNK car was IDENTICAL to my car. Teal, 94, 4.6L V8... except it had the Drivers Center and tan interior. Anywho, now my cruise control works. But when I was putting my intake back on, I dropped the screw driver inbetween the transmission and the tunnel. I cut my arm all up trying to reach for it, but alas, its still stuck down in there..lol. Oh yeah, I still got the old BFG's still on... may the smokey one wheeled burn outs commense!!
Dads First Run: In the SS Camaro, lined up against a 5.9 Dakota R/T, with a K&N FIPK kit. Dad got a SH!TTY R/T..he forgot to then the traction control off....it was the first time for both of us... The SS has a 3.23 with a posi-trac.

Both cars had junk tires on the back, we didnt want to tear up our new tires (275/40/17 Dayton Daytona ZR's on the SS, and 225/60/16 Falken Ziex 512's on TealBird). Both cars were "street stock." Had full tanks of gas, spare and jack still in trunk, and clutered with junk for work...
