Timing chain pivot arm problem. Help!

My new 4v engine build has went very smooth and runs great but it had a tick coming from the front passenger side under the timing cover.

After tearing it apart i found the passenger pivot arm wear strip had slid down and was contacting the crank gear area.

I replaced the arm with a new one and same thing.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this or has anyone dealt with that issue before? I've built many of these and never seen or heard of this happening.


Edit: ill grab a photo once i go back out where my car is. Likely Wednesday

Bad passenger side timing tensioner was the culprit. Never seen a qear strip slide off a guide tho.
