Tire Fitment Question

I just bought a 17X9 wheel to be used as a spare (Since the original owner decided to keep the spare...engine badging, tire tool, owners manual..etc, etc)

I just had a friend of mine give me a tire to use as a spare (it still has great tread on it)......

My question is this...will it fit the wheel?
The tire size is 225/45/17

No, will not fit a 9" rim. A 245/45 17" will fit on a 9" rim, looks ghey tho.

275/40-17" is the factory tire size for a 9" rim
