Tire Question

Tire Rack lists Michelin Cup 2's in 315/30ZR19 as having an 11.7" tread width and 325/30ZR19 as having an 11.5" tread width.

My question is: what, if any, advantage is there to the 325 if it has a narrower tread width?

Read how they determine tread width and realize this is an inflated tire that is not under the weight of a vehicle. I seriously doubt the tread is narrower at the point of contact.
