I have a 2003 L, and have been shopping around for tires to fit my factory 18" rims. What is the tallest (Aspect) tire anyone would recomend going. I have been looking at the BFG G-Force 285/60/18. I understand the 285 is less than a 1/2" narrower than the factory 295. But my question is: Will it look like a 4x4 with a 60 series tire? Has anyone ran this size before? The truck currently has 2" drop shackles only. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay

don't do it! Lightnings are street trucks. :bash: Unless you plan on mudd boggin stick with 45 series tires. Leave those tall tires for the 4x4 crowd

Jay, why are you wanting to go to a taller tire than stock?

It's all about cost, availability, and design. I have been able to find a wide variety of tires in the 50 / 60 series sizes. But we have a limited choice when it comes to the 295 / 45 / 18.

I will stick with the 45 series tire. It never hurts to see what everyone has tried, and not waste $700.00.

Thanks for everyone's input, I appreciate it.

See ya tomorrow Massey.......:poke:

Yep I'll be down there around 10:00 tonight, Jay!!

FWIW, a 285/60 tire would raise the truck up about 1.5"!!!!
