Are 295/35/18's wider than 295/45/18's? Will the 295/35/18's for on a stock 2000 lightning rim? Thank You

They are not wider, just shorter. Yes they will fit on the rims.

The contact patch is wider, assuming the right width wheel is used.. The width, ie: 295, is a cross-sectional measurement. The 295/35 is actually 1/2" wider (tread width) than the 296/45. The 35 requires a minimum of a 10" wheel, 11" is prefered. I ran the 35's on my 98 Vette which had a 18 x 9 1/2 rear wheel. It was pretty puckered...

A 295 is not a 295 which is not a 295.... When swapping to a different tire manufacturer and size ALWAYS check the mfr's specs before you change!

I have a set of 35 series on for autocross and I am messuring less that 1/4 inch tred width right now.
