title search question

So I have a question. I got 70 mach 1 that been in my family since i was 2 yrs old. the problem is that my dad lost the title for it a while ago. he says that the title was in my moms name. so i want to know what site or service can i use to find out who was the title was in last based on VIN and how to get a new title.

Whosever name is on the title should be able to just walk in and ask for a duplicate title. Its a couple bucks. So have them call and try it.

well kind f the problem is that my dad isnt totally sure that the title is in her name and also it was a NJ title, dont want to have to drive to another state to get a title that might not even be in her name

I'm having the same problem, just call and ask can I have a title. If they say yes, you can go get it, if they say no they will tell you why. Mine needed a smog check, but Its all cleared up now with just a phone call.
